Midlife Women Bloggers : Where Are You?

Are you a midlife woman blogger? If you want to connect with others who write about topics important to women in the prime of life, come visit me and add your blog to my list!

Sharing is caring!

Every morning I take a quick look around my social media accounts. I can find in every feed many posts from the mommy, fashion and beauty, fitness, mental health, food and creative/author bloggers. I have to wade through all of these posts to find the ones relevant to me, a woman over fifty. I am struck by the fact that there is no easy way to find all the information I am looking for in one place.

It seems to me that all of these other groups of bloggers are so organized and supportive of each other. They host hashtag parties, linkys and facebook groups. I try to fit in as best I can when I write about a topic that can fall into one of their areas of interest but for the most part I find myself feeling like the outsider.

I do a hashtag search on twitter: #over40, #over50, #midlife, #babyboomers, to name a few. The results come back filled with dating sites and weight loss promos. Really? Is this what society, the media and brands think that women over fifty are concerned with? If they do, they are entirely missing the mark.

I can honestly say that when I get together with my friends, our appearance is pretty far down the list in conversation. Maybe it shows to the outside world but we don’t care. We are more concerned with our grown up children making their way in the world, with our elderly parents whose health is declining, with taking care of ourselves and moulding our futures.

This is your opportunity to find and connect with other midlife bloggers.

Update April 4, 2016

Since this post I have met a lot of bloggers that are in the prime of their lives and blogging about everything from the point of view of the older woman. Please check out my other blog Making Midlife Matter and feel free to submit articles here.

  1. Hi there, I normally cringe over blogs about blogging, but your blog has some really good and sound content! I’m a hobby blogger, looking at possibilities to monetise (but haven’t found much that fits my blogs) – but even if I don’t, many of your articles here are very helpful when it comes to write consistently, get traffic, mindset/productivity and much else.

I don’t blog about midlife, but I’m 47 and blog about life after moving to Ireland, and promote lovely places in my local area. I also write a blog about my experiences of learning to play the guitar, and thoughts related to music, and one about whisk(e)y!

You can find them all at https://susanne.ie.

  2. Hi Tini, I totally see where you’re coming from. I’m just below the age group you say, I’m 47. But I do cool things! I started playing bluegrass guitar last year, moved abroad two years ago, explore the world of whisk(e)y, I’m starting up a graphic design business, and when Covid numbers allow, I explore new places with my camera. I have three blogs in different niches. Maybe you won’t see this but if you do, feel free to get in touch! I know about several cool 50+ bloggers also.

  3. I hope to find a blog that talks about 50-60 year old women who do cool, fun things. They all seem to focus on self help and wellness, taking care of parents, pictures of the grandkids. We aren’t dead yet, but an Instagram search makes it feel like the only interesting people are under the age of 30 and traveling the country in a van with their dog. Anyone?

  4. Hi Elena, my blog is Midlifestylist.com about maintaining a healthy lifestyle in your midlife years and beyond. I write about a lot of subjects, loosely related to staying healthy. I can see by the comments that you’ve connected with a lot of midlife bloggers which is awesome

  5. Hello!! So happy to have found like-minded bloggers! My blog is https://breakoutofburnout.com. I help burned out women over 40 find their spark for life again by improving their physical and mental health, and making time for self care.

  6. Such a great idea to create a space for midlife bloggers to connect. I’ve been blogging about fashion, lifestyle and wellness for the over 40 crowd for about a a year now and would love to connect with other bloggers. I host a blogging link up party on line each Wed and everyone is welcome to vising and link up their posts.

  7. Hello! I happened to find this post and I am a new blogger. I’m retiring in a couple of months and can’t wait to explore this new life and get to know the new me instead of the responsible corporate me. Silver-adventures.com will be my place to document this new stage of life.
    Rock on!

    1. Hi! Nice to “meet” everyone! I’m a grandmother in my 50s who blogs from Alabama about things to amuse, inform, inspire, and make you laugh…hopefully! I have a group on Facebook exclusively for grandmother bloggers and have a blog post similar to this one titled WHERE ARE ALL OF THE GRANDMOTHER BLOGGERS? Looking to connect with midlife and grandmother bloggers ♥

  8. Hi–nice to have found you! I am thinking about starting a blog, as I have noticed there are NOT a lot of blogs out there by women with a little “life experience” under their belts. When I did find one I liked, often I discovered that there hadn’t been any new posts in 2-3 years! I will be checking out all the blogs listed in the comments here, and hopefully making my own unique contribution to this nice soon. Advice and suggestions welcome!

  9. Excited to find blogs by mature women. Mine is scoobybedeau.blogspot.com. called Crazy Life. Struggling to live a Christian life.

  10. I am over 50 and producing a specialized blog, http://magicofhistory.com
It’s not really a lifestyle blog but I’m considering starting a second blog to focus on that as well, and care of an elderly parent will be a major theme.
Magic of History deals with reviews of historical books, movies and TV shows. If you enjoy that sort of thing, check it out.

  11. Hello All,

Nice blog here, really enjoyed viewing it. I’m preparing to blog but would like to know if any of you offer guest bloggers on your sites who are just starting out. If so, please get back to me. Thanks so much!

  12. I am Lori Jo, “50 With Flair” – So glad I found you and your group – my blog is just 4 weeks old today and is about reinvention over 50 and remaining positive, fashion/beauty/lifestyle. I feel alone and need to connect with others expressing themselves in a similar way. It is also my way of remaining current with technology, WordPress was humbling and I still have a lot to learn!

  13. Thank you for your article. I haven’t started my own blog (but I want to), I currently blog for my company only. Your article resonated with me as I’m beginning my midlife and can’t find any blogs that appeal to me or what I’m interested in. I’m excited to come up with ideas!

  14. Hi Elena! I remember reading some of your posts awhile ago (Loved them!), and then got all tangled up in my life and lost you. I also am looking to connect with women over 50 bloggers. I know we’re out there…but where are we hiding? Let’s do this!

  15. Hello, I just started blogging. So happy I am finding my creativity. Looking forward to connecting!

  16. I just discovered this site. YES! It has been hard to find other bloggers in this age group. Hoping to make some new friends! Brenda

  17. I am glad to find this link, but I would love to find a link to African American Women Bloggers 50 and older. Google has not been my friend. Does anyone know of any?

    1. I too having been frustratingly searching high & wide without success for this specific niche. I’d love to know if anyone knows of any but if not am willing to answer the call!

    1. Hello Emily,

I’m a blogger in the making, can’t say I’m new yet but I’m interested in connecting with other bloggers to collaborate with in the future. I’m getting my feet wet so to speak. I love your blog, congrats on it. If interested, please contact me. Thanks.

  18. Wow, I am so glad I found you. Here I am trying to find a way to fit in with my blog and that has brought me a lot of stress. I suffer from anxiety and depression and I am turning 50 this year which just adds to my self doubt. The fear of failure is overwhelming but I keep pushing myself not to quit. I feel isolated and I am afraid I will never find a group to connect with. This gives me hope. Thank you and I can’t wait to read all you have to offer.

  19. Elena,
Your Pinterest Pin popped up right at the top this morning, and look at all of us! Yayyyy! I, too, started a blog for much the same reasons you did.

“And Then This . . . is to inspire and empower women, especially in midlife . . . in our homes and in our souls . . . to feel at home within our walls and within ourselves . . . to not fear change, to not fear , to grow and believe in possibility in all corners of our lives.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my blog with you and other women in midlife.
    and then this.net

  20. I’m here! Leaving a quick comment before I go follow some of the other blogs I’ve found here. I’m on the younger end of midlife (44), and just getting started (my blog has only been launched for 2 weeks), but my goal is to create a community that changes the stereotype of “too old to have a voice”. I have a non-traditional outlook, but I think that adds to my niche!

You can find me at http://breakingsilver.com…everyone is welcome, not JUST midlifers!

  21. I’m so glad to have found this page (from Pinterest). I’ve been searching for other midlife bloggers and google hasn’t been the best source. I’m at the very start of midlife and haven’t found too many other people writing about this time (other than diets). My blog can be found at:
    http://willowtreecorner.com/blog/
I’m a midlife transition coach. You can find me across most social platforms too as Willow Tree Corner.
I’m off now to connect with some of you in the comments 🙂

  22. This is so great!! Our numbers are growing! It really does help to be in such amazing company. I love the diversity represented in these replies. We are so NOT basic! My blog is a real life look at midlife, with a little fashion, a little style, a little food a little rambling on, all with my quirky sense of humor…hope to see you all there! https://www.pearlsandpantsuits.com

  23. Hi Elena, so glad to have found your blog. I’m 62 and have just started to blog about my life as an active business owner, mom, grandma, helping elderly parents and adjusting to life as a single woman again (a widow).

So much to learn! My blog is in its infancy, but please give it a look:
    https://inspiremystyle.com

    Thanks!

  24. Hi, Elena! Found you on Pinterest. I’m 59 and have been blogging for about four years, although I still feel like a newbie. I timidly set up my site on WordPress.com and have tried to write consistently but life bumps me off track frequently. After being away the past five months to tend my seriously ill husband, I’m working up my gumption to give it another go. If you care to look,

    https://ladyoflavendercottage.wordpress.com

Thanks for your posts, they’re really inspiring and it’s great to see so many women in our phase of life doing this.

  26. What a helpful blog post. . . I googled “middle-aged bloggers” because I want to read thoughts from women closer to my age (58) in addition to all those cute young bloggers who agonize over stuff I’m finished with. I’ve just subscribed to 3 blogs from these commenters. Thank you, and I’m looking forward to learning from you!

I’ve been blogging for almost 10 years about my life as a full-time artist in a poor rural county in the flyover country of Central California. My blog is http://www.cabinart.net/blog/

  27. Hello, Women with whom I can relate:
I’m looking to build a robust blog site because I, too, have seen the need. I have, up until now, lacked the motivation to design the website I envision.

In the meantime, you can find some humor on my original blog: hhpt/www.resistentgray.blogspot.com

I welcome honest constructive criticism on my site, delivered in a respectful tone. Please remember that, at present, content is sparse. THANKS!

  28. Hey my sistas! So happy to have found you and look forward to visiting some of your blogs.

My name is Stephanie and I blog at Front Porch Tales: Pursuing Purpose and Passion in the Midlife Maze
    http://www.mallardsrunfarm.com

I am a nurse as well as a relationship life coach, focusing on changing family dynamics and helping women navigate the halftime of life as we look forward to this amazing season of life.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Cursed the Universe for having chronic fatigue syndrom. All about: coffee, life, tarot, rubbisch, cats & entrepreneurship nonsense. 30. Hi Elena! Looks like you found the midlife women bloggers you were looking for, huh? Add me to the list. I blog about things to amuse, inform, inspire, and (hopefully) make you laugh! Started following you on social media 🙂

  31. Helloooo all! I just realized that when I read all these a few months ago, and even commented on one, that I didn’t introduce myself or share my url. I’m a 50-year-old mom and registered dietitian, an avid pedestrian and semi-retired volleyball player 🙂 I blog primarily to share my family-tested and kid-approved recipes, as well as my ‘love what you eat’ philosophy. I’m into wellness. balance, intuitive eating, raising adventurous eaters, and cold brewed coffee 🙂 What I’m craving is real connections with people in the blog world, both other bloggers and those who read them. Looking forward to continue exploring all the fantastic works out there! xx Julia

  32. Hi ladies! I am so glad to have found this. I got started in blogging in a haphazard sort of way a few years ago, but really kind of got back into it this past summer when I started writing for my city’s “Moms Blog.” It has been a great experience in that I have learned so much about WordPress and the process of consistently blogging, BUT . . . as much as I love working with my mom-colleagues, the majority of them are younger moms with little kids. Our lives, attitudes, tech-immersion levels, etc. are different, and so now I am wanting to connect more with mid-life women bloggers. I started a new blog on the side this fall, and am looking forward to sharing that soon. It is about cooking for the challenges of Type 2 diabetes, so recipes, strategies, tips, etc. When I have it built up a little more, I will launch it. Meanwhile, I am going to start going down the list here and checking out all the other marvelous mid-lifers’ blogs listed in the comments!

  33. Hello Ladies!!! I blog over at Start a Simple Life. It’s health and wellness as simple as I can get it. It’s a bit personal blog and a bit work blog (I’m a health and wellness coach). It’s not blatantly midlife but definitely geared to us amazing women.

I’ve clicked a few links above me here and followed some wonderful ladies and hopefully we can connect! Looking forward to meeting!

    ~Allison

  34. Blogging began as a journal extension of grief after my husband died suddenly, https://writebrainwidow.blog, but has grown in different directions as I have. I think we are all different people at different times with different feelings and perceptions and I guess my blog reflects that – as well as my sense of humor. I’m anxious to visit many of the different blog sites and posts of you all here who also come with different focuses, viewpoints and reasons for blogging! Rock on, ladies!!!!

  35. Where indeed? Please get in touch. There is absolutely nothing for mid-life women on the blogging front. I’m going to set one up. Lindsey

    1. As you can see by the comments, there are thousands of us blogging, but always room for more. Check out the image in my sidebar to follow a tutorial to start your own blog then come back and share it here.

  36. God Bless You! I’m Andi – I’m a Christian, and i’m a few years short of 60. 🙂
I have two awesome (well, I think so) blogs:

CouponBlessingsNow – couponblessingsnow.com – all about coupons, savings, and the occasional giveaway

Honoring God In All – honoringgodinallcom – all about God, plus my occasional attempts at being an almost 60-something homemaker in training 🙂

  37. Thanks for your blog Elena. I started a blog this year at age 55. I needed somewhere to get the thoughts about aging out of head. It’s been therapeutic to share my thoughts and fears and it motivates me to eat right, stay fit and step out of my comfort zone to learn new things.

    1. Thanks to everyone here but, Kristy, I was taken by your comment about getting aging out of your head. I want to do that too. Thanks for sharing. I don’t have a blog yet but hope to take the time this winter to start one. Diane

      1. Welcome and let me know if you need help getting started. There is an image in my side bar that will take you to a post that will give you step by step instructions. Then come back here and share your blog with us!

  38. Hi there, my name is Ann-Marie, I’m 48 and finally set up my blog http://www.goingforold.co.uk a few weeks ago. Once I get into the swing of things I hope to write a couple of posts each week.

I’m jogging towards 50 but I’m in no hurry 🙂

Please stop by and say hello and tell me what you think.

  39. I don’t blog but I do read blogs and I am over fifty.I am so glad that we can feel relevant heck even inspirational after the big 50!I know that once I waded through The Who am I? after the whole empty nest thing I have learned a few things.I am strong, wondrously made creation of God.I am complex and confidant.I am learning still to enjoy life because I have spent way too much of it trying to fit into some mold I thought I should be.Cheers to fabulous and 50(ish) and to living in joy!

  40. I’m so excited to have found this post too – and all of you 50+ women bloggers! I’ve written another blog for the last 16 months related to my work/degree but it “lives” more in the personal finance blog world 🙂 And there aren’t many of us in the “50 Club” hanging out in that group either! I’m just working on some finishing touches to get my new blog https:www.femalesatfifty.com up and running! I will be scrolling through all of the comments here and checking out all of your pages!

  41. Hello Elena,

Thank you for writing such a lovely (and quite true) post. I have started a lifestyle blog called Rustic and Refined Living.

    Gina

  42. Hi ya’ll,

I’m a bit older than all of you (66 this year) and have been online with my website https://www.WickerWoman.com for 18 years now with a blog on it that I started in 2004! So I really feel like a dinosaur trying to keep up with all the new technology, social media, and excessive “noise” and overload.

My husband, who was my emotional support and cheerleader, passed away five years ago, which sent me into a real tailspin and I’m still trying to adjust to my “new normal.”

It’s been hard to connect with other bloggers in my age range and hard to keep from comparing my site and myself with these new, young bloggers that have had everything handed to them on a silver platter (technology speaking). Until 2007 I was doing all my own hand coding in HTML for heaven’s sake. Then I taught myself php coding and switched my site platform to WordPress.org self-hosted where it’s been ever since.

I find it mind-boggling to keep up with all that bloggers “should” do before hitting “send” or “update” on a post. Of course, I started on every social network when they first came out and must admit, got quickly overwhelmed with personal account AND business accounts on each one. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Youtube, Pinterest and most recently I started an Instagram business (only) account!

Not only did I do my own website, blog and social networks for all 18 years, but ran two non-profit websites and social media accounts for five years on one and seven years on the other! Then after hubby passed away, I decided that doing ALL those things was just too difficult to continue with and resigned from those unpaid positions of webmaster and social media admins.

Over the last five years being on my own, I’ve had to cull out some of the things I was doing and figure out what was most important and what would bring the most joy and fulfillment to me at this stage of my life’s journey.

Besides being overwhelmed, I also am suffering with “decision fatigue” a phrase I just heard about but that really applies to me now! Never heard of that before? Here’s a great article that explains what it is and how to fix your situation. You can bet I’m going to follow these steps! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lori-rochino/8-ways-to-combat-decision-fatigue_b_6794022.html

So happy to have found your blog Elena (especially since we have the same last name) and will be subscribing to your blog and hope to “talk” with you and your readers again soon.

Thanks for listening and giving me a space to speak my mind. Hope I haven’t overstayed my welcome, though. How are the rest of you handling blogging over 50?

    1. Hi Cathryn! You must be something akin to a wizard, learning and doing all that coding before creating a blog was a ‘simple’ as choosing a template and simply putting words out there. I am wicked impressed! I thought I wanted to be a food/nutrition writer back in 1998 when I graduated from Tufts with a degree in communications, but turned out I don’t want to be edited by other people (lol who does?). The platform that would fit what I wanted to do – blogging – just didn’t exist back then, at least not that I was aware of. I went on with my career as a dietitian, then discovered this thing called blogs in 2011. I struggle week to week keeping up with the changes, the ‘best practices’ and social media pushes required to get people to be aware my blog is there. It is a lot of work, and all for the love of writing and sharing – certainly not for the $$, at least not yet 🙂 I am going to explore your blog – best of luck as you continue to find your new normal. xo Julia

    2. Cathryn, it seems we have a bit in common (including being higher on the midlife scale) and I’m anxious to check out your blog. Came to writing as an extension of being a graphic designer/copywriter but mostly writing for others. And while blogging can also be considered for others since we share our thoughts, it’s ourselves and our thoughts that we explore, too. Looking forward to reading your blog…

  43. i’m so glad I found this post! I found it whilst desperately searching for other 40+ lifestyle bloggers who realise that women over 40 are into more than just weight loss and capsule wardrobes!! I haven’t even got any content on my blog yet, it’s just a shell, but the gist of it is to empower women over 40, create a community, share stories of support, be it relating to financial / career issues, parenting, self worth, travel, lifestyle and yes, maybe the odd health, beauty and fitness tips.

As I said, my blog is brand, spanking new and rather naked at the moment, but I have started a FB group you’re all more than welcome to join https://www.facebook.com/groups/1947246035557793/

Now I am going to have fun exploring everyone else’s blogs 🙂
    Tara xx

  44. See, I told you I was an amateur blogger. I didn’t even leave my website address on my last comment!!! Duh!!!
    midlifecarnival.com

  45. Hey there, Ladies. I’m a brand new blogger who just turned 51. My blog is pretty amateur yet, but I’m learning as I go and I’m having a great time with it.
I write about stuff I love to do, and things I just have no tolerance/filter for anymore (that last list just keeps getting longer by the minute!! Oh….thought of another one!!).
I try to keep things light and upbeat, but I also research and try to help educate us on the topics we are most concerned with at this stage: Why can I no longer see my belly button? Why can I not remember the names of my children? What the heck did I come upstairs to do??
I’m very happy to be a part of the blogging community and I look forward to making many e-friends and acquaintances in the coming years.
    Cheers!!

  46. So many interesting blogs to discover here! I’m Bernie, and I blog mainly about travel, with a little planning and lifestyle thrown in. You’ll find me over at http://www.apackedlife.com. I think midlife for me has been about appreciating things all the more, and I try to reflect that in my blog (along with a dash of humour about some of the absurdities of travel).

  47. My blog is new and I’m writing about what I’m doing and experiencing in my 50’s, http://www.beasbuzz.com I’m still working full-time so I haven’t written as much as I wanted, yet!

I’m experiencing the Total Solar Eclipse today, so I’m hoping to find some creative inspiration!

  48. Hi, I’ve also started a ‘midlife’ blog recently, as I’ve struggled to find content that relates to women like me who are post-menopausal but have plenty of life left in them yet! I’m so grateful to have stumbled upon your site – it’s great to know that there are like-minded women out there!

  49. Hello Elena, I have had my blog for 2 years but have just started getting serious about building numbers. So I went to a bloggers conference last weekend and they said it was important to reach out to other bloggers. Our demographic seems a little slim on the ground. Would love to know if you have a community. Many Thanks Lorrie Graham

    1. As you can see from the comments, there are tons of midlife bloggers. I think they are hard to find because they may not always put themselves forth as a midlife blogger. Welcome to the community!

  50. Hi All,
I have just started a midlife blog and I am very excited about it. Any tips or comments would be gratefully appreciated.

    My website is http://www.siorai.ie

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Carrie xx

    1. Hi there! I am in the process of transitioning my blog to support women over 40, and as part of my research into looking for other “midlife” bloggers, I found this site. After floundering with finding a clear purpose for my blog for over a year now, I feel excited to be transitioning and connecting with others!

  51. Some really lovely blogs listed here! I went through a really rough time with menopause and discovered that if I changed the way I fuel my brain all of the horrid symptoms disappeared completely. I read up on the subject and collected so much research that I wanted to share it as there are very little facts and information about the middle-aged woman. So, I’ve written a book about my discoveries and blog at http://www.midlifetothemax.com. Hope to see you there!

  52. Hi Elena

I found your website via Google + whilst searching over50! I was researching for my blog niche/audience work.

I have been blogging since September 2016 at http://www.jenafitlife.com hoping to demonstrate that you can live life well over 50 without masses of resources but with commitment and energy! Not that these are always easy to come by 🙂

Thanks for your great blog. I have also followed you on Instagram and Twitter.

    Jen x

  53. Hi Elena. I just discovered your blog today while pondering the same kinds of questions. Like you, I don’t think social media has much in the way of useful content for those navigating their way through midlife and beyond – much less those who see this time in their life as a great opportunity for reinvention.

Eighteen months ago, I started MidlifeTribe (http://midlifetribe.com) with a view to sharing my failures, plus the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Kids, divorce, financial pressures and health issues all feature strongly in the topics I tackle. It’s lovely to come across someone who is treating this topic professionally, and I’ll be lurking about a bit more from time to time. 🙂

    1. I am so glad to have found this post and comments. My youngest just graduated high school. My kids are 18, 21, and 23. They have been my whole world and focus. I am a single mom (I went through a divorce 9 1/2 years ago and their dad hasn’t been a part of their lives since then) and now have all this time to do for me and I like it, but it sure feels strange!

    1. Loving your first posts. I couldn’t find a way to subscribe, so I thought that if I commented maybe I could do so later when you’ve updated. (It takes a while to get everything tweaked, doesn’t it?). And I wanted to say that your choice of visuals really made me smile, and happy noises may have escaped my mouth. Good luck in the blogging journey.

  54. Hi Ladies! Thanks Elena for posting this! I too am a midlife blogger at WhatSheSay.com. I blog about self improvement/personal development and issues relating to transition and transformation. My passion is sharing my journey with other women and helping women as we build the lives we all desire. I will certainly be checking out many of the blogs represented here. Glad to see all of you!

  55. Oh yes, mid life here too. Oh, and I see so many young bloggers out there, so I appreciate this post even more. My blog is about flooring – TheFlooringGirl.com. I hope it will be appropriate for me to keep the Girl name 10 to 20 years from now. I’m short, so that helps.

  56. I’m here — good to find everyone here and your blog. I just started my blog in February. I will investigate this list. Followed you on Insta and looking forward to a good read xo

  57. 55. Those 2 numbers mean a lot to the world in the way it judges a person. Especially a woman. To “the rest of the world”, 3 words seem to act as judge and jury in defining who or what a woman is. Those words are, “Unmarried” and “No children”. Like it or not, we are all labeled by society. It is daunting to think how many people’s lives have been impacted by so few words or numbers. At what point in my life did I stop being Carrie and start being a label I wonder? It’s great to read so many positive posts from women in their 40s, 50s and beyond. Can’t wait to get my blog up and running.

  58. Hi ladies,

Glad I found you and looking forward to connecting! I am a 46-year-old Scot living in Worthing, England and started my blog 2 years ago but life got in the way so I restarted it yesterday. It’s a tongue in cheek look at learning to be middle-aged – not mediocre. I am not ready to grow old (or grow up!) yet.

You can find me at schoolofjules.com and on Twitter @schoolofjules

    Jules

  59. Okay, so I’ve been a mid-lifer for quite some years now, but I don’t plan on moving on from here. 🙂 To give you a hint, my eldest grandchild is 24. (How did THAT happen?) I have two websites with attending blogs: http://www.riseandsoar.com for those doing battle with cancer (I’m a nearly 20 years surviver) and http://www.shirleycorder.com for writing and general blogging. Currently doing the #atozchallenge. I’d love to see you there!

  60. Hi, So very glad you made this post. I was wondering the same thing, and hoping to connect with other midlife bloggers. I’m 54. My blog is Aspiring Homemaker, which actually is for any age, but I’m going to be launching another blog specifically to middle agers within the month.

  61. Hi All, Yvonne Clarke here! Delighted to see all you fellow bloggers are out there helping women at midlife! I am a holistic Teacher,Midlife Empowerment Mentor and I love life! Passionate about my work and love helping women at midlife to get unstuck, refocus and start to live the life they want! Been working in healing therapies for almost twenty years and been mentoring since 2009. Check out my website/Blog on http://www.yvonneclarke.com. It’s being totally revamped at moment but you can check out my blog/blog. Great to meet you! Xx

  62. HOORAY!!! So we DO exist! I knew we were out there somewhere.
I have been writing a blog (50somethingyearsyoung) since last September, but only launched it a couple of weeks ago. I’m still negotiating my way through it all and am not easy to find on Google (although my Facebook Page is up, I’m on Instagram and Pinterest). Someone told me to use Twitter, but I wouldn’t even know where to start….
I am full of life and raring to go but couldn’t find anyone who felt like me. I can tell from these responses that I am not alone. I’ve found it really hard to meet bloggers of my age and ilk and can’t wait to get to know you all. Please find me…I’ll be finding you and I can’t wait. Thank you Elena xxxxx

  63. Here I am! Midlife Blogger here ( lovelifeandlunacy.com) I love your blog and hope you join me on my new midlife blogging adventure as well.

  64. Hi there! My name is Janis and I am happy to have discovered your blog! Thanks for reaching out to other mid-life bloggers (I intend to live well past 120, so I guess, at 61 years old, I can still consider myself a mid-lifer). My blog is sometimes about retirement, sometimes about traveling, and sometimes about anything else that catches my Baby Boomer fancy. You can visit my blog at http://retirementallychallenged.com

  65. Hey there! I’m also a midlife blogger. I’m 53 and loving it! My blog is called Suzy’s Empty Nest Blog and I write about the hi’s and lows of becoming older and wiser: mindfulness, empty nest, aging and career malaise. So glad I found you!

  66. Hello! I’m Sue from Sizzling Towards Sixty & Beyond. I started blogging two years ago and I’m all about encouraging women of midlife to Sizzle and learn about positive aging. That means being fit, active and healthy enjoying life and forgetting about age. Life is too short to just tread water. I’ve just changed my blog name to add ‘& Beyond’ because I’m 60 this year and I’m still going to Sizzle!!

  67. I’m Leanne and I have a Midlife Blog @ http://www.crestingthehill.com.au and I write about how fabulous midlife and the empty nest is. There are so many midlife bloggers out there – you just have to know where to look (thanks for this being a great start Elena!) and once you connect in with them you are part of a supportive, encouraging, fun, and amazing group of women. I feel so blessed to be part of this group!

  68. Been wondering the same thing since I started blogging a little over a year ago (except for a few months when I had a broken thumb…hard to craft without your right hand! LOL) In my fulltime career, I am a techy, but I’ve always liked crafts…mosaics, jewelry, sewing, etc., so as I near retirement, I wanted to try my hand at blogging. It is difficult to fit in with other bloggers when all the others are 30 years younger than me. I know there must be crafters out there that are older than 40! Just because you’re old doesn’t mean you give up your hobbies! You can find my blog at http://www.surf2create.com Look forward to meeting some of you!

  69. I’m a blogger, lifelong writer and sometimes freelancer, but my blog on a variety of topics from woo-woo to travel to dogs and recipes and more, is my love. At http://carolcassara.com/ and I love followers. I’m finishing a graduate program in past life regression (yes!) And, my most exciting news…. I’m starting a business in March with very cool stuff–effective stuff but nothing you consume– to help people with are undergoing cancer treatment, who are grieving, who have anxiety and chronic pain. I’m past midlife and still excited about this new venture. I love new subscribers and know you’ll never be bored with my posts.! Going off to marchtoday but when i get back, going to follow some new to me bloggers here!
    http://carolcassara.com/

  70. Hi Elena (and everyone else), my name is Vivienne. I underwent a total career transformation when I was 50 – found myself unemployed and virtually homeless… I decided to go into the world of digital media, as I’ve always been a writer at heart and could see that was the direction the world was heading in. I sold my first article for just £6! These days, years later, I run my own digital creative agency in Hatfield, UK. You can read my musings at http://viviennekneale.com/blog Thanks for the informative, inspiring blog Elena!

      1. I really didn’t mention my blog when I posted back in January…I started http://www.surf2create.com a year ago. I want to be successful but I’m having trouble getting traffic to my site. I’ve wondered if it isn’t because I’m over 50! Still have a day job so maybe one day the site will take off when I’m retired! Hopefully!

  71. I’m Cherryl. I started my blog about 9 months ago, and I just turned 51. I have often felt like I’m out of my league, wishing that I was about 10 or 20 years younger and fit in better! I sometimes feel like I must be the oldest blogger out there! It feels nice to know there are others struggling with the same issues. You can find me at http://www.farmgirlreformed.com

  72. Hello to all the over 50 Bloggers! I started my blog at age 51 so I guess it is a Midlife blog. To me, it is truly a new beginning and a fabulous adventure. I have learned so much, met so many amazing people and made some wonderful connections. Looking forward to continuing the journey and making more friends.
    Gloria from http://www.JugglingMother.net

  73. You read my mind when you wrote this post. Mommy bloggers and young style bloggers seem to be everywhere, but I enjoy reading what woman in midlife and their wisdom years have to say.

I have been a life coach for 15 years and this year, my blog is going to focus more on the issues that we women who have been around for awhile face. How to live more simply, feel healthy, empower ourselves financially, and more.

    http://lifecoachlinda.com

I recently turned my life upside down when I sold my CA townhome and bought a house in small town in Missouri mortgage free. I noticed my readers were interested in following this journey and they still want the life strategies I normally share It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

In the meantime, I am looking forward to reviewing some of the blogs shared in these comments and possibly connecting with some of you.
Thank you, Elena, for this post which seems to have touched the hearts of so many.

  74. Hi, don’t know if I’m too late to join the fun but thought I’d introduce myself on the off chance! I started blogging a couple of months after my 50th birthday, which then forced me to discover Twitter and Facebook – up until then I’d only been on polite nodding terms with technology!
I have two teenagers, a hubby and a cantankerous cat. I blog about the humour of midlife – why should the youngsters have all the fun?!
Great to meet so many other midlife bloggers!
    Look me up at https://midlifedramasinpyjamas.wordpress.com
    xx

  75. Hi, Elena, thanks for following my blog, A Light Beyond the Hedge: Poetry and Somewhat Social Commentary. I’m an over-50 blogger, in fact I’m a creeping-up-on-60 blogger. I look forward to reading your blog.
    Warm regards,
    Virginia

  76. I’m so excited to find this! I’ve toyed with starting a blog for years but didn’t get started until a few months ago, shortly before 50. I’ve got to say I’ve gotten enormous support from the younger crowd but I’m at a different place in life. Looking forward to following you and many others in the comments

  77. Hi Elena!! I’ve been doing a bit of research to network with other midlife bloggers. I’m launching my lifestyle blog in January looking to find communities to connect with others. Can’t quite find a place where I fit now that I’m in my 40’s… did a search and found this post. Looking forward to joining the group!! You can find me at http://www.polkadottheory.com or on instagram, polkadottheory.

  78. Elena,

I’m glad you have created a place for all of us to gather. I’m quite new to the blogging party, but look forward to joining the community.

    xo, Lauren

  79. Hello. I am a travel agent, writer, and sometime travel blogger. I recently decided to turn my personal musings about my life over 50 into a separate blog which I named “Awkward After 50. This project is only 10 days old (as of 10/21/16) and I am still putting the pieces together. However, I hope you will follow me and, of course, I’d welcome your feedback.

    Thank you!

  80. Hello. I started a blog, Facebook, Instagram mid-life venture a year ago called The ME in Menopause. It provides information and inspiration for all things mid-life, change and also Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I went through fertility treatment, CFS and early on-set menopause, and it was such a learning curve…. I wanted to share some of that with other women. Just wrote my first e-book about food for health, maintenance and enjoyment, focused on eating to rev up a slowing metabolism, to ward off disease and to stay as youthful as possible. It was great to pull all my learning together and add in some simple recipes, particularly healthy sweet treats and some of my favourite healthy choices such as turmeric teas, bone broth and smoothie bowls.
I look forward to going off now and clicking on all your links and having a read 🙂
    Lynda

  81. Hi Elena, I found this post by searching for midlife lifestyle bloggers. I also run a midlife type of blog and run a FB group called “Blogging Over 40”, would love to have you join us or anyone else that you know that would like too. Also, just to let you know a bit about me , I blog over at http://teresabatey.com 🙂

  82. HI Elena- I am just dipping my pinky toe into the blog waters and found your post right out of the gate. This exactly where I am and how I feel. Having turned fifty last November, I am finding no real voice out there for women evaluating what is now important in our lives besides wrinkle cream. I stumbled upon a great book by Suzanne Braun Levine addressing what she calls our second adulthood- so fitting! Anyway, wanted to tell you that there is a true need for our voices to be heard and I for one am joining the conversation. Thanks!

  83. Hi Elena. I contacted you on FB about this great post of yours. I have added you to my Twitter list Midlife Bloggers and Biz. It is a public list for anyone to view or subscribe to. It helps me to see I’m not the only midlife blogger out there. If anyone else wants to be added to the list, just contact me on Twitter, Pinterest or FB @LifeWiseLady.

  84. Hi Elena.

Just found out about your community. TheMidLifeGuru.com has been an authentic voice for midlife since 2010. Looking froward to meeting other midlife bloggers and sharing some of my articles on Making Midlife Matter.

  85. What a fabulous and generous idea for sharing blogs! I hope to make many new friends here. Over the last year and a half I have made many positive changes in my life including beating binge eating and losing 100 pounds – I love reading other midlife women’s stories and blogs for inspiration.

I write about midlife eating disorders (http://www.midlifeeatingdisorder.com/) as well as healthy aging and also write an occasional blog post for the Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/author/smithfio56-425)

    Thank you!
    Best,
    Elizabeth

  86. Jon, at middaymidlife.com.

I know I don’t meet the minimum requirement for your search, but I am a new blogger who is also focused on midlife. If you’d like to see a man’s perspective please come over for s visit.

Like you, I’m surprised at the lack of midlife blogs in the blogosphere.

    Thanks,

    Jon

  87. Hi Elena – I took an early retirement last year at the “tender” age of 55. It took me a while, but I just started a blog as a way to express myself as I adjust to my new lifestyle. I have found out that I don’t actually know how I “should” act/feel/behave at this stage of my life. And strangely, I felt invisible, not young anymore but not senior either. Your blog and your invitation to midlife women bloggers gives me a sense of comfort that there is a supportive community out there. Thank you.

  88. I’ve been blogging for years, but for the last six months+ have taken a hiatus and am now beginning a new blog. I’ve always been an eclectic blogger – writing about whatever takes my fancy – but am now heading in a different, more purposeful direction surrounding my writing, the first inklings of an empty nest (my oldest moved out a few months ago), being a special needs parent of an adult children with other, younger children still at home, and yeal reinventing myself (for want of a better word at the moment).
My mother died after several years of Alzheimer’s causing her (and my brother and my) life much pain, confusion, and turmoil. I’m currently in the midst of clearing out her “hoarder house” – a daunting task, as well as untangling the mess her estate is in. As well as moving purposely forward in my own life. Ah it’s complicated.
Still – I’m an optimist and intend to kick all these problems in the butt and emerge triumphant 🙂
And I’d dearly love some community to interact with along the way!

  89. Hi Elena, my name is Denise. I have a blog page but have nothing on it yet. I am going to be 53 and was looking forward to having all of my children grown . Then 3 years ago when I turned 50 my 3 grandsons came to live with my husband and I. We adopted them, they have been the joy of my life. I homeschool them and I am back to doing the stay at home things we women do.With more age and being premenopausal it has been a little ruff but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I am a Christian and serve a great God. I am glad I found your post.
    Thank you
    Denise Cortez

  90. I’ve been blogging for a while – first as a 47-year old widow but now as a 57-year old woman dating and building a life. I blog at Rosehip Or Prune? . It would be great to share experiences with others having to make a new life while fighting off old age!

  91. Hi Elena — I’m a mid life blogger who believes that life after 50 can be the most fulfilling time in one’s life…full of Fun, discovery and contribution. My inspiration came from the most unlikely, non traditional and unorthodox place. But it got my attention….tickled my funny bone…and sent me off on a path I’m loving.

  92. Hello! I’m 47 and getting ready to be single again. Yes, it sucks! So I’m writing about it and hoping it’s therapeutic. Also, I like to post about fashion tips for those of us that aren’t 28 anymore and sometimes seem to be overlooked by all those cute young girls on Instagram. I’ve just started so all this is a new endeavor and it’s nice to see I’m not alone 🙂 Thanks! Visit me at http://middleofalife.blogspot.com and leave a comment to let me know what you think. Advice is always welcome too! Best, Karen

  93. Great topic! I’m a 48 year old, apple-shaped, big-busted woman making her way in fashion. I post outfits that I have found work with my shape, budget and comfort-level. I think feeling good about how you look no matter your age or size really affects your confidence level. I think of my blog as giving confidence to the mid-life woman with the mid-life body. Feel free to pop over to my blog at http://www.whenthegirlsrule.com because we rule!

  94. Hi, I’m a blogger and fit the category of midlife as I’m 55. I love blogging about running (I’m trying to improve my 5km time), travel, emptynest-ness and general random stuff. I like to find other runners in my age group, who aren’t that serious and keeping up to date with what’s happening. I’m just trying to get my head around Pinterest at the moment. I blog at debs-world.com and welcome anyone to come by and have a look. I work in Education in a very unique environment! Hope to become involved here. Thanks Debbie

  95. Hi Elena, I read this post while driving in the car (as a passenger) during Spring Break trip this past week. Wow! what a community you have here. You are doing so much to connect others. I feel on an island sometimes as a writer at 47, so being here is wonderful. I’ve been writing forever as as journalist and copywriter and through journaling. But I only just started my blog http://www.carvingsonadesk.com a year ago. It’s where I doodle about past, present, future clinking glasses and making peace. It’s been a life changer, but still in search of “the tribe.” I’m also currently co-curating an anthology with a working title Sandwiched: Voices from the Middle with Christine Organ. Deadline for submissions is April 15th. There’s a link to more information on my blog menu bar in case you or anyone you know has any interest. I’ve been learning a lot from your Blog Share Learn group. What a wonderful, interactive group that is. Thank you for so much.

    Kind regards,
    Julie

  96. Good morning! I’ve been blogging for just over a year, and sometimes felt I was doing so in a vacuum, lol! I’m 48 years old, and you can find me at http://www.thatsavvygirl.com where I write about what’s on my mind, be it a current events commentary, observational humour or giving a cooking tutorial. I wanted to cut my writer’s teeth on a blog before jumping into writing books. It worked, as I’ve also self-published three of them under a nom de plume this year!

Thanks for inviting us to respond here! I’ve enjoyed your blog since I found it a few months ago 🙂

  97. Good evening everyone! Like a lot of you I felt alone in a sea of twenty something bloggers…it’s nice to know there is a community out there and it’s growing! I am brand new to blogging, but my hope is to inspire others with little luxuries to upgrade your daily life. I can be found at http://www.midlifewelllived.com

Kelly from Mid Life Well Lived

  98. Hi Elena and all you lovelies! My name is Linda and I turned 50 last year! Going through the whole peri-menopause thing at the moment – arrrggghh! I teach primary school (have done for 29 years) and also blog (I started adding content last year, but only went live early this year) about how I came to be finally at peace with who I am, as well as my extreme passion for creating soulful homes that bring us joy. I was starting to wonder if I’d find some like minded friends in blog world to share and chat with! So lovely to find you all. 🙂 xx

  99. You’re certainly doing something right. Look at all of these comments! I’ve been blogging for 4 years about living the best life possible despite disability

I love midlife and I write about that too at An Empowered Spirit – http://www.anempoweredspirit.com Trying to help others manage their journey based on my knowledge and experience of living with Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years.

I am so blessed to have met you and then get to know you. You are a gem, Elena.

  100. Hi Elena! I can’t believe I missed this post the first time around. I do think you’ve connected with a bunch of mid-life bloggers by now but I agree there likely aren’t as many as the “mommies” and the foodies and the fashion ones, etc. Although as you know, I don’t write any of that even as a mid-lifer and am starting to ask a similar question about those of us 60+. I’ve just hit 60 and that changes things a bit too. I am so looking forward to meeting you at BAM so we can talk about his more! ~Kathy

  101. What a nice thing for you to do! I’m Tammy, the Twisted Purl Girl at http://twistedpurlgirl.blogspot.com/ I blog mostly about observations I make in life and how so much of life’s circumstances and lessons are often demonstrated in my knitting. Now that I’m 40-11, I’ve found that if I can make garments with sticks and string, I can do just about anything I put my mind to. What’s your superpower? The Blog Share & Learn group is my favorite sharing group on FB

  102. Hi Elena! I just found you on Pinterest. I have to say I was elated. I’m a midlife blogger, well, blogging about midlife and recipes with much more to come lol. It has been brutal trying to connect with other midlife bloggers. Like you said, mommy bloggers galore … I love mommy bloggers but midlifers kinda get place at the bottom. So glad I found you and happy to connect!

  103. Yeah, so glad googling around brought me here! Just chatting with another late 40s childless friend–where are the articles, blogs etc. for US? I’m a writer and blogger and find all the millenial blogs just too much … and not relevant. Anyway, I’m going to check out your links and connect, though it’s a year after your initial post.

  104. Hello! I just turned the big 5OH and I’ve been blogging for 8 years over on vickiodell.com. I’ve been doing the bulk of my work and writing in the craft industry as a professional but I’m doing more writing these days about midlife because I too thought there weren’t many like me out there. I’m going to hunt ya’all down and follow you. 🙂

  105. Hi Elena. I just found this post and so glad I did. I am a 40 something blogger and I started a community on Facebook just for older bloggers. I never did fit in with all the younger bloggers who do homeschooling and kid stuff on their blogs. I would love to connect with more midlife bloggers.

  106. Hi *waves hand in the air*
I’m Michelle, an over 50 blogger. Just over a year ago I launched The Barefaced Chic, a lifestyle / fashion blog with a few pearls of wisdom thrown in for good measure. It’s a joy to see so many mature bloggers commenting on this post, I see my reading list growing – a lot!
    Thanks for sharing.
    Michelle

  107. Hi Elena, I’ve just started a London based lifestyle blog aimed at sharing women’s midlife stories. Its very new and very much work in progress but I would love to receive some input from you and other bloggers, especially to contribute content about the threads of life experience that I cannot stitch – children, divorce, fashion! Please get in touch everyone, its a rich and splendid tapestry we weave. http://www.growngals.com

  108. I am so happy that I have found this post. I agree, that most bloggers that I have found are not falling into the midlife category which I am blogging about. I will be checking out everyone’s recommendations!

  109. Hi Elena – what a great post! God-willing I’ll be 56 later this year ~ I’m aging, but NOT getting old. I began blogging one year ago this month – best gig ever. Single best thing I’ve done strictly for myself (along with 1st conference) in a long time. Had no idea there were so many mid-life bloggers out there ~ we rock. Love Karen McDonough’s concept of ‘saying yes’ — the best ~ or ever better ~ is still ahead. I blog at:

    Take care.

    1. I will be 50 in a couple of months and I am looking to connect with others in my age range to know how they are doing in this time of their life. Thank you for your comment.

  110. Just about everything you touch is something I’m interested in! I’m going to go through these one by one, but also want to let you know that I’m blogging — and illustrating — my blog “Our Third Thirds.” If the first third was Preparing for Adulthood, and the second was Parenting/Professional Life, then the Third Third is the one we create for ourselves. Also on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Our3rdThirds/

  111. I’m a nearing 50 style blogger. I find that since style doesn’t have anything to do with age, I don’t slot as neatly into the Midlife category as some other blogs, so my followers tend to be a mix of ages. I do enjoy reading midlife blogs because they’re relatable. Daily Plate of Crazy is a good one I enjoy.

  112. I love being in my late 40s. My kids are in their teens/early twenties and are embracing their new found worlds my husband and I are enjoying more quality time together. Life is changing but I like change, makes me nervous but let’s go for it! Have a cocktail or two with me via my food blog Beach Hut Cook!!

  113. I am nearly fifty and I am one of those women who never outgrew their teenage horse phase. Arriving at mid-life I find myself with 6 horses to support and do so by hosting equine guided meditation retreats at my house in the deepest rural south of France. Can get a bit quiet here, so I blog and hugely enjoy meeting other bloggers, especially women my age. Thanks so much for this, Elena!

  114. Thanks for the list of other woman blogging in mid life. I am trying to create a circle of women to follow and who I can share with. 49 and single, energy like the energy bunny as they say and still going down playground slides with my grandchildren. I would like to use social media effectively and I would like to make some great new friends. You can find my blog at http://ifonlyiwerequeenoftheworldsaidshe.blogspot.ca Thanks again and looking forward to checking out all your pages ladies. jan:)

  115. I am a blogger in my mid 40’s. I have an anxiety blog called TheWorryGames.com. I would say most of my readers are probably younger than me since that is when anxiety disorders erupt. I have made some great connections with other anxiety bloggers, both younger and older than me. Love the idea of connecting with other bloggers in my age group though. My exposure to other blogs now, outside of the anxiety realm, consists mostly of Mommy blogged and they are mostly younger than me, and I really relate a whole lot to their blogs despite having five kids. Thanks for the post. Great topic.

  116. Hi Elena. I am a food blogger, new to the blogging world. I am also over 50.. So far I mostly share recipes, have tipped my toes into a couple personal posts. I would like to share some stories I that I know the younger women couldn’t relate to. I found your post on the Bloggers Boost page and came to have a look. You have a very nice blog, some good blogging advice.too. Thanks

  117. What a great idea! This is exactly what I was looking for when I joined the blogging & social media world just 2 months ago. My name is Riza. I am in my mid 40s (Gen-Xer (-:) and on a midlife career break for an indefinite period. I decided to travel the world and write a memoir blog during my hiatus. My specific interests are travel and photography and midlife crisis (as a subject). You can find my blog in http://www.midlife-funk.com. I am also in Facebook (Midlife Funk) where I engage my audience in conversations on midlife crisis, post midlife inspirations and musings, and share my travels and photographs. I am also in Twitter (@midlife_funk) and Instagram (midlifefunk). I look forward to meeting some or all of you! Many thanks. (I just realized that this is an old post. Anyway, I’m happy to get the chance to introduce myself. I would love to connect with you.)

  118. Thanks for the list of other midlife bloggers. I knew they were somewhere 🙂 I plan on blogging about midlife after the first of the year in part because I am still trying to deal with the fact that I am over 50 and never been married, no kids and how I never thought the latter two would happen.

    Elaine

  119. Im a plus 40 blogger, but I get what your saying. I am past the mummy stage of life, and want to read likeminded blogs. I will definately be checking out your list.

  120. Me, me, I’m over 50! (WELL over 50, in fact.) Had my kids when I was “older,” so sometimes I forget my age, but I’m a near empty nester. I blog more about home, crafts, photography, etc., PLUS my blog has the word “mom” in it (still re-thinking that…), but I’m not a 30 something mom blogger (although several of my blog friends ARE!) Lately, I’ve been an inconsistent blogger, but I’m never going away.

      1. I just saw your question–very sorry for the late reply. Blogging has had to take a back seat to some pressing family issues, but I’m keeping it alive. When life events are stressful, it’s hard for me to keep a blogging schedule. Thanks for asking!

  121. Where have you been all my life? I’m “pushing 50” only 6 weeks to go. . .I blog on my writing website and write every day. Changing my life one risky action at a time! Great list here, thanks…and I would love to contribute.

  122. Thanks for putting this amazing list together! I write about women and midlife reinvention on Next Act for Women. So many inspiring stories of fresh starts in midlife!

  123. I write about midlife and beyond, and I try to add humor because laughing is better than breaking something. My blogs are on The Huffington Post, BlogHer, Midlife Boulevard, and other sites as well as my own site.

  124. Hi Elena, I think Midlife Boulevard and Vibrant Nation are great places to find a variety of Midlife Bloggers just as you suggest. My blog is a lifestyle blog and yet, I agree with Jennifer, discussing fashion and beauty is a huge part of the discussion because we gain confidence from it. I do believe these blogs you have highlighted…which I would love to have over50feeling40 on your list…are good ones. You do a great job with your blog as well. But, places like the two I mentioned are the best for finding that collaboration you seek!

  125. Hi Elena,

I’m a blogger and I’m 55. My blog is focused on home decor, as I spent my entire “real career” as a designer (although I was a fashion designer) and I started blogging, after I stopped working, as a creative outlet. Perhaps more shallow than what you blog about, but the impetus was the feedback I got from the real life table settings I posted every time I entertained. At 50, I feel more free and able to entertain at home and more interested in decorating now that my kids are mostly on their own. We’ve also just moved into a new home, so now my blog is focused on turning a newish townhouse into a personal and unique space. My subcategory is also travel, another interest we’re now more free to pursue. Feel free to stop by and have a look. So happy I found your blog!

    Best,
    Lory at Designthusiasm

    1. Making your environment nice, comforting and inviting is just as important IMO. I can’t have anything nice yet, there still here! I’m so glad we connected and i will definately check it out.

  126. Hi Elena, I thought I had previously posted my blog here but I guess that just confirms how much a little bit of me every day is a little bit crazier 🙂 Anyway, I’m so glad I’ve recently found you and #Midlifeluv. I definitely belong “here”. I wandered into far too many “Mommy Blogger” groups and no offense, but with a freshman and senior in college I am so far past the diaper discussions. My blog is bethblackercallmecrazy.com and I look forward to continuing to share each other’s journeys through midlife and beyond.

    1. That’s exactly how I felt! I am very happy to add you Beth! I’m not near a computer today (just easier to do than with phone) but I will do as soon as I can.

  127. Hi, Elena. I do not have a true “mid life blog” – well, maybe I do and I just don’t know it. I am a long distance caregiver for a disabled brother in law and his 87 year old mother, an empty nester, and a wannabe photographer. I do read your blog from time to time. I blog at ramblinwitham.blogspot.com. I also enjoy Kimberly’s blog and will check out some of the others as time allows. Mid Life is about so much more than dating and weight loss!

    1. If you are over 50 and have a blog, you are a mid life blogger. You are a welcome addition to my list. Thank you for stopping by.

    1. I’m glad the summer and I have inspired you to get back at it. It helps to find a community of like minded individuals as well. I will be sure to check out your blog. Thank you for stopping by.

    1. For a second there, I thought you were inviting me to Australia! Lol My nephew lives in Melbourne, so you never know! I will add you to my list so others can find you too. Thanks for stabbing by.

  128. Elena- I’m so glad to have found your blog via Twitter. I am always on the lookout for midlife bloggers myself. I love to write about my family and grandkiddies at http://reneesrevelings.com/. Looking forward to perusing through your list and comments here to find other like-minded bloggers.

    1. Excellent! I’m sure others would love to connect with you as well. I will add you to my list and check out your blog too. Thank you so much for sharing.

  129. I write a travel blog aimed at 50+ readers called http://www.globetrottinggrandma.com. I am also on Twitter and Facebook. I have changed many things in my life during both my 40’s and 50’s and I now feel as if I am at a stage in my life where I am finally grown-up. Priorities, work, family life personal interests change as you get older. Life is for living and exploring and as a more mature woman I feel confident in doing this, even if others think I’m unconventional for my age. It is but a number and I’d rather embrace my maturity than wish for my youth back anyday! I enjoy challenging myself and the norm! I enjoy travelling and writing. I also write blogs on music and women’s history. The internet has opened up a whole new world of communication where other women from all over the globe can connect and share their stories.

    1. Your life sounds amazing! I have never been one that wished to go back in time and be younger. I am happy with who I am. I don’t particularly think that makes me officially grown-up but closer than others I suppose. lol. I am definately adding you to my list and look forward to reading about your travels.

      1. Thank you so much for the link add to my website – I will add one for you on mine too! It may take me a week or so to get it up there – but I’ll post a mention on twitter when its done – I also have a full time day job on top of blogging so I have to fit that in on my days off!

  130. Our parents have passed away. My husband and mine. Our grown children absorb almost as much worry and attention as they did at 5. Their struggles just have more serious ramifications.
That said, if I ignore my appearance and how I present myself to the world, I lose power. The world perceives me differently and that effects my confidence and ability to have the impact I want to have. I can’t say you’ve been looking in the wrong place. That’s for each of us to decide.
But I’m looking for strong, confident women who have the guts to share their struggles.
It seems I’ve found her here
    So fun to find you.
    Thanks!

    1. Thank you! I think we just need to give women a place to be themselves, whatever way makes them feel most confident, and they will soar. I’m so glad we connected!

  131. It’s wonderful to see so many mid-life bloggers gathering here in your comment section – I’m so pleased to find so many blogs to read with all the same interests and issues that I really want to read about. Thank you so much Elena for such an inspiring post – we need to find each other to make our voices heard so that more space is given to the topics that we’re excited about.
As Tattooed Mummy has mentioned – Post40Bloggers.com is a very welcoming community site for mid-life bloggers.

    1. Thank you for dropping by Hen! I love post40bloggers. They have used a few of my posts. It’s a wonderful community but I feel we must organize and unite so that our voices are heard. We are strong, vibrant women, set to take on the second half of our lives like no generation before us. Let’s make it count!

  132. Hi there Elena, good to find you. I am a 59 year old blogger in the UK. I was a press photographer and writer (newspapers and magazines etc) in my younger days. I started off making it a blog for over 50s women but like you, found that we seem to be alone! So I totally revamped my blog taking the emphasis off age and I just blog about anything and everything that grabs me – hence the name ‘anything except housework’. My posts are diverse, I have stuff on there about crafting, meeting unusual people, my experiences, other people’s experiences – often with a humorous or light-hearted tone. The current top post is about a bunch of guys dressing up and pretending to be US Air Force personnel during the Cold War on an old US Airbase near where I live. So I will write about absolutely ANYTHING if it grabs me. I am so glad I found you – would love to stay in touch!

    1. Well I am glad you did find me! Your blog sounds very interesting and I am going to check it out and add it to my list. I support anyone who promotes a ban on housework. Lol Thank you so much for dropping by and adding your voice to this wonderful community.

    1. Well let’s see if we can do that! I will add you to my list as soon as I get home and hopefully you will connect with someone as great as you are!

    1. I’m glad I can facilitate interaction for us prime time bloggers! Thank you for stopping by and I will add you to the list as soon as I get home.

  133. Hi Elena, boomer blogger here, over 50, writing a novel that features a mid-fifties woman and I’m happy to embrace this community! Glad you posted on this topic. BTW, I’ve seen publishers who say they’re seeking books written about boomers and their issues. After all, we’re about to be the hugest segment of the population–or so I keep hearing. That’s our consolation prize. 😉

    1. We are the biggest segment but we definately need to hear more voices! Thanks for reading and sharing. I am adding you to my list!

  134. What a lovely idea – I can’t wait to use your curated list to discover new blogs! I’m at http://www.pinkmenot.com – and I’m midway between 40 & 50, although if I’m being honest, at 46 I’m now slightly closer to the latter number than the former. Although my blog focuses a lot on my two kids, it also prioritizes travel and the writing life. My struggle to accept the fact that I’m in mid-40s is a running theme throughout my blog. Thanks, Elena!

  135. It’s funny when I read this I thought, wow, that can’t be me, midlife, partly because if I’m midlife I’m going to live well into my 90s – daunting thought and still kind of exciting. 😉
Thanks for this list, some I already followed, and now all. 🙂
I don’t think of myself as a midlife blogger although I frequently mention age and its side effects in my blog.
Thanks again, bookmarking and sharing this Elena.
Hope this day treats you kindly! 🙂

    1. I am adding you to my list! There were so many blogs I wanted to add but didn’t want to offend people just in case they turned out to be younger than I thought! lol Thank you so much for reading and sharing and I hope you have a great day too.

  136. Hi Elena
Yes, this sounds really good. It would be nice to chat to bloggers who are closer to my own age group and I agree with others that some times you can feel a bit self conscious leaving comments on blogs where its obvious they are only in their 20’s. Having said that my own blogs which are fairly new and haven’t got that much content tend to be more geographically specific than age related. But anyway here they are:

Looking forward to reading everyone else’s (this is why there isn’t much on mine, because I spend too much time reading instead of writing). Gill.

  137. Hi, Elena. My sister and I are midlifers and blog about our journey to a healthier lifestyle. We need to do a link up party for support of midlife bloggers. We need to support each other! I started following you.

  138. Hi Elena! “Mid-Lifer” here! I just started blogging! I write about my fun and weird experiences following a complete change to my life in midlife. My motto for life is say “Yes!” Once I started saying Yes, so many opportunities and experiences started coming my way and my world is opening up. I want to share in hopes that others our age can be encouraged to do the same…

    My blog is http://flipsideofthebikini.com/

Thanks, Elena, for putting this out there… 🙂

  139. Hi Elena, I agree it’s difficult to compete at times with the younger version of me! Although I am a foodie that revamps some old recipes, and makes up some great new ones for gluten-free eating. I also do review for kitchen items/products! I find at times there are not very many of us over 50 out there trying to make their way in the blogging world. I know I could use all the ideas and help I could get. This has been a dream of mine for many years!

    1. I want to make a platform for all of us to succeed and support each other. Thank you for stopping by and sharing. I am adding you to my list!

    2. I have to agree that I get frustrated with the lack of organized midlife blog groups interacting in social media, I just don’t really fit in with so many of the mommy bloggers and lifestyle bloggers and their Facebook groups, though I try. And I also don’t fit in well with the ‘product bloggers’ of any demographic. I never do well on the ‘like for like’ days, as I guess they don’t see my blog as relevant to their worldview as well.

  140. How generous of you to make this offer! I hope you’ll check out Boomer Haiku, (www.boomerhaiku.com), a mostly light-hearted, often irreverent look at life as a boomer as we move through midlife and beyond. Heaven knows there’s a lot of material to write about at this age!

    1. I do follow all the great editors at post40! I will be adding you to my blog list above. Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing.

  141. Hi Elena! I am a midlife blogger with a majority midlife audience focusing on pursuing creativity through writing, blogging, and creative outlets during our ‘second act’, although I don’t specifically narrow my blog writing just to midlife folk.

Anyone interested can stop by over at ‘kristin nador writes anywhere’ (http://www.kristinnador.com) where I talk about grown kids, grandkids, grey hair, and hot flashes occasionally among the call to find and pursue your passions through writing and other creative activities. It’s never too late to discover your own creative adventures!

Thanks for this post and for being so generous to let everyone share their ‘blog home’. 🙂

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting Kristin. I will add your blog to the above list. I think it’s important for us to become an organized group as well. I’ve decided to create a FaceBook group just for us as well as a hashtag on Twitter for sharing. I’m also going to host linky parties very soon. Please check back for more information. I would love for you to participate.

  142. Corina at corinajoyc.wordpress.com, Kathy at the3rdchapter.me, and Paula at paulareednancarrow.com are three who instantly come to mind. Many of my readers are actually middle-aged women roughly my mom’s age (in their 50s) so it surprises me that you think they’re hard to find! I have the same issue with bloggers of my age–while I sometimes write about college, “college bloggers” tend to be fashion/DIY bloggers and often write way too many pithy list posts for me to handle!

    1. Thanks Sabina! I do read Paula. Don’t know how I forgot her! Will definately check out the others. Thanks again.
