In May of 2017, I took a long-awaited vacation to the UK to visit my sister and attend a blogging conference in London. These posts are my diary of a fantastic trip. I covered a lot of ground and I must say, came home quite exhausted and ready for another vacation. I will link all posts from that trip at the bottom.
How To Spend The Day When You Visit Cheltenham In The Cotswolds
Cheltenham lies just over an hour away from Birmingham and just under two hours away from London on the M5. Bordering The Cotswolds, it made an excellent base for us from which to explore the whole region. Whether you have a day or a week set aside, rest assured that you will have plenty to do, including many things that are free. Cheltenham is renowned for its shopping, theatre and festivals.
For more information, check out these sites before you visit:

- The Jockey Club
- Cheltenham Museum
- Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway
A visit should always begin with a good walk about. This is such a beautiful town. You just must explore it on foot first. I suggest you park your car at the Regency Arcade. (P.S. It is multi level parking complex. Either take a snapshot of your floor or write it down because trust me when I say, at the end of the day, you won’t remember where you parked the car.)
TOWN HALL
NEPTUNE’S FOUNTAIN
THE PROMENADE
THE MINOTAUR AND THE HARE

The Wilson is Gloucestershire’s premier art gallery and museum. It has an internationally significant collection from the Arts and Crafts Movement and fine art. You can also see the fascinating archives relating to Antarctic explorer Edward A. Wilson, Cheltenham’s history and the Emery Walker Library. Admission is free.
TEA TIME
It’s time for a break yes?
SHOPPING IN THE REGENT ARCADE
Charge it!
DINNER AT RISING SUN HOTEL ON CLEEVE HILL
I have never been to a movie theatre like this. We don’t have these where I come from. Look at the size of the seats and every one has an unobstructed view! Order your snacks when you buy your ticket and they bring it right to your seat. I ordered wine, which is not allowed back home either.
What a fabulous day we had in Cheltenham. I would definitely go back again.

I love your pictures, Elena. We went to London several years ago and did a tour of the Cotswolds. Such a beautiful place. That movie theater is amazing! I’d go to the movies more if we had theaters like that here.
It is beautiful in the Cotswolds. Next I’d like to visit the Lake District. And the theatre does have a steep price to match but I guess if you rarely go, it is a treat.
Love Cheltenham – Great post!
A fascinating tour
Great photos and fascinating post. Haven’t been to Cheltenham in a while but it’s a lovely town so may have to get back very soon now.
Thanks! I hope you get a chance to go.
Well currently in NZ but will be back looking for housesitting jobs for the summer so hopefully we will.
